His Highness Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Monday opened the new headquarters of the Dubai Government’s Department of Economic Development (DED) at the Business Village near the Clock Tower — one of the city’s oldest landmarks.
The DED will create a single web portal for dealings with investors, and enhance the investment environment and competitiveness of the emirate. It will also encourage growth for new sectors and contribute to local economic development as well as increase the income rate.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum was accompanied by Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation and Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates airline and Group; Mohammad Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, and Mohammad Ebrahim Al Shaibani, Director-General of the Dubai Ruler’s Court.
During his visit, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed was escorted around DED headquarters and he viewed the service map offered by the department to its customers, as well as other related services. He also thanked the effective participation of Al-Shirawi Facilities Management Company which oversees the facilities management of the entire Dubai Business Village campus.
