About Us
Al Shirawi Enterprises is part of the Al Shirawi group of companies, which has
grown into one of the largest manufacturing, engineering, and trading,
marketing, distribution, contracting and service industries since its inception
in 1971.
Al Shirawi Enterprises was appointed sole
distributor for SCANIA trucks and buses in 1981 for Dubai and the Northern
Emirates. The company soon established itself as a market leader in the heavy
truck sector.
Also in 1994, Al Shirawi Enterprises started
distribution of SCANIA Industrial & Marine Engines. Based on the experience
of the sales of Scania Trucks, this division soon found its niche in the marine
diesel engine market in the U.A.E. Workboats, Pleasure and Patrol Craft
market soon took notice of the SCANIA Marine presence.
The expertise in diesel
engines made the customers of generator sets come to Al Shirawi for their
requirements and they are currently fulfilled by SCANIA and other diesel en
gine
powered generator sets built in Europe by some of the most renowned assembly
plants.
In 1997 the company
inaugurated its new, modern, fully equipped facility in Dubai to ensure its
commitment to the market and its development.
Along with the new
facility, a new strategy was evolved. This was to diversify into products that
will enable us to offer customers all their operational needs in movement of
goods and material. Construction and Warehouse sectors were targeted.
In 1998 Al Shirawi
Enterprises was appointed sole distributor for CASE construction
equipment in the United Arab Emirates. This enabled the company to offer
reliable construction equipment such as Wheel Loaders, Backhoe Loaders,
Excavators and Skid steers.
Later in the same year
Al Shirawi Enterprises was appointed sole distributor for STILL forklifts
for Dubai and the Northern Emirates. This opened the doors to the warehousing
sector and the company offers Forklifts and Reach trucks to meet most material
handling requirements.
In a future effort to
provide more solutions to our customers, the complete product line of Benford
UK was added to our range of Construction Equipment in 1999, with dumpers,
rollers, compactors and light concrete equipment which compliments the Case
product range.
The roots of this
success lie in the common philosophy shared throughout the Al Shirawi group - a
philosophy that emphasizes development of a first-rate after-sales organization
to maximize vehicle and equipment uptime and hence increase the overall
profitability of the customer.
Haulage consultancy is a
critical factor behind the sale of Scania trucks. Each and every vehicle sold is
specified according to the Scania modular system to meet the end-user's
transport requirements. This in turn gives the transport operator an efficient
operation.
Based on our experience
in the Truck after sales market, similar after sales operations were set up to
support both our construction equipment department and our materials handling
department. Both departments have mobile service units in operation with all the
service technicians having undergone intensive training at the respective
equipment manufacturers.
The Al Shirawi Service
Center not only provides maintenance and repair services to the exacting
standards set by our Principals, but it also assists in providing solutions to
fleet cu
stomers who have their own workshop facilities. In addition, 24-hour
emergency assistance is provided to all customers who have unforeseen breakdowns
during irregular hours.
To ensure that the
customers get consistent good service Al Shirawi enterprises has formalized the
systems and was certified ISO 9002 compliant in April 1999.In September 2002 the company has been certified compliant with the new standard ISO 9001:2000.
Over the years, Al
Shirawi enterprises have led by example. The company was the first Scania
distributor in the Gulf to implement the Scania plus program, the first
distributor outside Europe to be on CombaT (computer - based training), the first
distributor in Middle East to aggressively promote Scania marine and industrial
engines, the first distributor to have chassis Straightening equipment,
and the first distributor in the Middle East to win the "After Sales
Importer of the Year" Award in 1995. In the year 2000, Al Shirawi
Enterprises was the first distributor outside Europe to receive the "Dealer
Operating Standard Certificate". Scania gave the certificate after a
comprehensive audit done by them. In the same year, the company was the only
truck dealer to be approved by Dubai Police for Truck and Heavy Equipment
Inspection Passing. And yet after all this success the
Company is still hungry for more.
